Today, our advisory services are provided primarily by Barry Cheskin. Barry has over 25 years of general management experience in the medical device business and many years of Board experience. Most recently, he was Co-Founder, President & CEO of accommodating intraocular lens start-up, PowerVision, which he sold to his largest competitor, Alcon, in 2019. Prior to PowerVision, he was President & CEO of nanotechnology-based medical battery start-up, NanoGram Devices, which he sold to his largest competitor, Wilson Greatbach, in 2004. Prior to that, he was President & CEO of minimally invasive cancer device start-up RITA Medical Systems, which he took public in 2000. Before being a start-up CEO, he was Division President/Corporate Vice President at public cardiology-focused medical device company, Datascope. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Associate at international management consulting firm, Booz, Allen and Hamilton and as an engineer at various medical device and other companies. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and Stanford, respectively, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Advisory services are also provided by Lisa Norcia Cheskin. Lisa has over 30 years of clinical, regulatory and R&D experience in the medical device industry. Her focus has been on the design and execution of clinical trials and on providing and defending clinical trial results to the FDA to obtain market approval of new technologies. She is responsible for the approval of numerous new products/indications in multiple medical specialties including facial aesthetics, cardiology, dermatology, and urology. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Health Policy Associates, a consulting firm. Prior to that, she was Vice-President of Clinical Affairs/Acting Co-Head of R&D at Merz Aesthetics. Prior to Merz, she was Director of Clinical Affairs at Datascope. Earlier in her career, she served as Manager of Regulatory Affairs/Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Pfizer. She holds a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University.
